Brief Interlude! London Broiled.....and broiled...and broiled

But seriously.

I am working on my posts for next week.
Happily cooking a disaster my dinner while I type thinking it's OK to eat red meat once in a blue moon cause I need some protein and wondering...
How long are you supposed to broil a London Broil?
This is what mine looked like.
It doesn't look like the first picture does it.....

U & I could be ..... ( strike that )

Will you invite me to dinner if I bring wine and a great book? Your creation looks to be very suitable for a hungry Minnesota boy.

Eric - strike what?

You must be very hungry to want to eat that. LOL. It is not a pretty sight but doesn't smell too bad.

You're invited.
Wine sounds awesome.
What book are you going to read to me?

I've had worse kitchen disasters. Your meal looks quite edible to me. How did it taste?

Dawn - It took a half hour to chew one bite. Don't tell Eric. He won't come over.

Bee - Painful to look at, isn't it? But I tried!!!! I just don't have the cooking gene. Nope. My sister got it.

I'm glad you dropped by.
I need cooking lessons.

Eric - I love it.
Would you like me to bake a dessert?

Something about when you say, "don't tell Eric" that sends shivers down my spine. You know, the good tingly kind ;-)

Speedcat Hollydale said...

I will make dessert, and do the dishes

Eric - A man who reads Twain and cooks. Smile.

Ooops I think you cooked it too long! LOL

I posted our intinerary for our visit to the deep south next May. :)

Yours looks normal...the first is a la food-stylist/photoshop...

If you like it medium-rare (too many asides to make on that), broil it for about 8 minutes a side (depending on thickness) until the internal temp is 135. Take it out and let sit for about 5 minutes

oh man that makes me hungry

Akelamalu - The picture is not nearly as dark as it REALLY is. Thank goodness for camera flashes.

I await your itinerary!

Coop - That's a bit complicated for me and my cooking brain, but thanks for the tip. I will be ordering out next time I desire London Broil.

Mimi Lenox said...

Charles - Well, it smelled good. And that's all I'm gonna say about that.

You really must stop with this cooking! If you want a fancy meal, go to a restaurant. It's the patriotic thing to do -- spending money, letting professionals do what they do best, will help this economy finally emerge from Recession. Really, if you love you country, you will stay out of the kitchen! (That's how I rationalize my complete lack of domestic dexterity. How does it sound?)

Mimi Lenox said...

I think I like your rationalization. I will try it.
It's better than indigestion.
