Under The Snow

Contemplative
Clean, white snow
piling up outside my window
Inspiring music turned up
Thinking.
Thinking........writing....thinking that.......

The road to peace is not a long one

but it is a deep one
With tentacles that reach inside the bone and sinew of each person
To the core
Silently strong

It is a place.
And I like to go there

It is still
And real
Snow-swept
Forgiving
True

Not a creed or background or a philosophy
It is a location
In me
And in you

Wherever you find your peace today, remember this -
Deep and abiding peace is always rooted in love

Waiting to seep out of our pores and into the lives of others
who need it
who need
us

Any love found under the snow -
especially the unconditional kind......

Always manifests as peace to the world.

Ah Mimi, the poem is beautiful - and you're so right... it is within each of us, only a breath away... if we'll only draw in that breath and allow it to seep out of our pores and into the lives of others
who need it
who need
us
... if only we could all remember how easy it is.

Beautiful poem! And I agree, achieving peace isn't that far away. If only more people can work together...hmmm...
