Sunday Blog Chatter: Comment Crazy For You

I promise not to say a word about Peace Globes in this post.

So let's talk about Dona Nobis Pacem in the Blogosphere and why I am hopelessly in love with it. Then I'll give it a rest. For awhile. Maybe.

Back in August, not long after I started this blog, I wrote a piece called "Don't Mush With Me!" It was inspired by a fellow blogger's comment. The witty and wonderful Gale Martin of GEM'S blog. I was, quite honestly, ticked at Gale for making me think about a very scary word: vulnerability. What transpired after that between the pages of this blog, propelled me to begin to write with all of Mimi's Mini-Mouse might. In the post, found here, I wrestled and cursed with that word and the very thing I'd been afraid of. And to quote myself, in reference to the dreaded V word, "My work is not a damn thing without it."

So Mimi writes.

And writes some more.

And what started there - ended here and here and here and here and here and here.

I morphed. I donned a pencil skirt. I karaoked people. I interviewed Scarlett O'Hara (who, just in case you're wondering, is being held in an Atlanta jail as we speak), I experimented with formats. I reached into my vulnerable satchel and splashed a world peace challenge on the screen. And you responded with your hearts on your sleeves and fire in your blogs.

It was amazing.

Mimi's mush became your mush too! And so much more.

Enough to foster a new book, enough to make me cry for a week, enough to settle the vulnerable question once and for all.

Vulnerability feels like falling all a cliff and hoping there will be arms to catch you when you reach the bottom. And when it happens in writing, in relationships, in art, in life......magic appears. I am standing on the precipice of a new Mimi Writes. And I don't need a parachute.

I am overwhelmed with what you have said to each other this week. Read a few of the comments I found on the Peace Globe hunt. These are just a few. And then please click over and read Don't Mush With Me! if you have the time. If you are writing a novel via NaNoWriMo, then you know what I'm talking about! I hope it propels you to think about your words in a deeper way.

This from Meowers in Missouri in an email - "With the qualities of cleanliness, affection, patience, dignity and courage that cats have, how many of us, I ask you, would be capable of becoming cats?" - Fernard Mery

Found on Bud's site from MADD: "I am so moved to be a part of this and to travel around the blogosphere to see all these amazing posts...thanks for sharing" From Alberta, Canada "I wish you peace, my friend." From Sanni in Germany: wishing peace for you and your loved ones from Germany..." From Betty at Life in the Fortress, "May you find peace." Please check out her Veteran's Day post. It is lovely.

Found on Bazza's site from the United Kingdom: "Peace be with you always." from Adrena's Get a Grip blog. From Reeholio in New Zealand: "Hi Bazza. Wishing you peace today."

Found on Prometheus' blog: "It is a huge undertaking just to deal with others in a spirit of peace. We all love to steep in the wrongs others have done us (especially me). Thanks for reminding me to be a person of peace, Prometheus." written by Gemmolina. To which Prometheus replied, "Gem, you are a person of peace."

From Suspect: "This is worth fighting for. We gotta keep believing. We gotta stay hungry. We gotta stay foolish. Because if we don't, then we will lose an important part of ourselves, and that is Hope." Suspect is 15 years old.

From She: "You wrote in part "Imagine world leaders who have grown up on using technology for peace and sharing." We can only hope that such a time comes soon and that this same generation will have an interest in dialog, peace, teamwork and the global citizenship and consideration for others to carry Mimi's idea forward."

It was a beautiful dialogue.
Your words moved peace and blessings across the world.

Love and kisses to the man who sat on the floor of a little girl's playhouse kitchen in his starched white shirt and encouraged her to write - instead of cook.

He would be proud to know you.

I am pleased to be part of the general mush, but I really need to know what a pencil skirt is.

Every time I think of what we all did together, I get all emotional. It was a wonderful experience!

(And Luxor thought so, too.)
