Bloggers Are Taking Over The World ~ One Globe At a Time
Wanna play catch in the global village?
There's a new game in Blogsville with the potential to well.....rock the world. It's called BLOGBLAST FOR PEACE and will make its global debut Tuesday, November 7, 2006. Also known as Dona Nobis Pacem in the Blogosphere, it has just begun to spin totally out of control. I fully expect a planetary landslide any second.
Why am I so confident?
Because I have unwavering faith in the power of words.
YOUR words - YOUR names - YOUR creations - YOUR positive energy - YOUR love vibes to the universe - YOUR hopes and prayers for a better world.
There's a certain electricity that accompanies faith fueled with hope. We are hard-pressed in these times to find it. But I've gotta tell ya folks, every time I see another Peace Globe grace my inbox - I literally get goosebumps. I've often said simplicity is the depth of all things real in this world. Therein lies the magic of the globes.
We are not building a corporation, orchestrating a revolt, marching on the steps of Congress or collecting empirical evidence to prove a premise.
Instead, we are silently marking our world with a promise.
Our globes are more than petitions and here's why: Bloggers are real. Notwithstanding a few charlatans who always manage to seep in through the cracks I have found that the vast majority of bloggers are sincerely in touch with pools of untapped creativity. What's more, bloggers are willing to share their astounding gifts with each other.
I've encountered more tangible proof that the best things in life are intangible in the most unlikely of "sterile" places - an invisible online world.
I dare say we live in another dimension; where our best selves are allowed and encouraged to shine. How many times have I heard bloggers write about wanting to give up a writing project or a film making idea, an artistic show or short story contest, only to find a last minute "you can do it" speech in their email from another thoughtful blogger? For most of us, that kind of unconditional encouragement does not exist in the real world. And what makes it so viable is the grandness of scale. The exponential chain of unbiased and wholly volunteered support from complete strangers is unparalleled in scope and substance.
Enter online networking.
Enter online networking.
And I don't mean chain letters for profit and scams of gloom and greed. Spend some time reading comments on blogs. I find as many online gems in comment pages as in regular posts.
The variety of opinion and respect for opinion can be inspiring.
Spend a few minutes viewing the slideshow in the Peace Globe Gallery. We have created a tangible virtual neighborhood of peace.
I can't think of anything more powerful.
So why is the Peace Globe effort more than a trite comment on a simple graphic?
Why does it inspire me?
Because you've placed your entire creative presence and being onto the face of a world I live in too.
And suddenly, we are all the same.
Many of you have spoken loudly, jumped on the bandwagon to help by creating postings on your own blogs to promote this one-of-a-kind debut. I am humbled and thankful. Dona Nobis Pacem will not happen without all of us. Please continue to spread the word.
A special thanks to Frank and Reeholio for keeping me organized and encouraged.
When world peace is achieved I promise to stop talking about the Peace Globe. But that wasn't today - so let's keep that big beautiful ball rolling along.
Seventy million blogs
Seventy million possibilities.
One globe.
Email your finished peace globes to blog4peace @yahoo.com
Please write if you have any questions about the project or ideas about spreading the word.

I can't wait to participate! The world (or at least the one we hear about) semms a really dark place sometimes.
Mimi..just checking in to see how it is going..I'm going to remind all my blogger neighborhood to do it..is't it funny how even here in the blogosphere we have villages set up, yet it seems so much eaiser to cross "borders" to visit others peacefully in their villages..hhmmm funny how that works with all us bloggers out there, maybe there is some hope after all..:)let's at least give it a try..take care ..m

Michael....GREAT! Looking forward to your participation and appreciate the support.
Madd...The Globe effort is starting to move but we still need mucho advertising on other blogs. You did a nice job of including it in your Sunday Travels spot. Thank you! We just have to keep getting the word out. I'm excited.
Bee....I need to properly thank you for bringing attention to this on your blog. Very much appreciated. I enjoyed the photos in your post today. Priceless!
Thank you, Lizza. I know I have your support and that means a lot. You are an internet force to be reckoned with my dear. Your Saturday Blogworld is legendary - as is your intelligent and thoughtful commentary - I am honored to be included in the mix. I can't wait until November 7th!
Thanks, Cathy. I hope you will spread the word and send in a globe. Can't wait to see it!
