Monday Mimisms ~ While I Was Away

What a way to start a new year! It had barely begun when the Killer Flu struck. It took almost as much time trying not to relapse as it did dealing with the thing. I hope you all got your flu shots in my absence.

Homer, my trusty Palace Dog, said the entire Kingdom went to blell in a handbasket while I was gone. Is this true?!!  I noticed you visited me a lot -  even when I wasn't saying anything. Thanks for checking up on me. I gained followers when I wasn't blogging. I'm thrilled but how odd!  And when I posted on Facebook that I had the flu, people "liked" it.  I'm hoping they meant they liked my post and not my calamity. Still....Homer is not telling me something. I can tell. He has that I-know-about-the-mischief-my-Queen-but-I'm-not-telling look on his face. What? What??! What else happened? Anybody want to tell me? Hmmmmmm???

While I was away drinking IV cocktails... Egypt started on the road to democracy, Libya began the process of revolution (again) gas prices began to slowly inch up (again), Kate and William went on a stroll christening watercraft, Wisconsin made a cheese chain at the State Capitol, Justin Bieber cut his hair, the iPhone hit the market, Rahm became Governor of Chicago and Jennifer Lopez broke down and cried on American Idol. The world has gone slap crazy.

Barring anymore catastrophes of the personal kind, I'm back to my regular kooky schedule and looking forward to blogging up a storm. I have a new "friend" who has been keeping me busy and entertained (in a get-your-germy-self-away-from-me-cute-kind-of-way) but it's nice to have someone to hang out with who doesn't ask me 3x a day if I still have any fever (that would be my mother) and says I "brutally convinced" him to get a flu shot.

Now there's a sensible man.

We'll see if he still likes me without the sexy hoarse voice. Time will tell.
What 'til I tell him I'm a Queen.

Glad to hear you're on the mend. I wound up in the hospital with the flu five years ago. I was put in isolation, and any visitor to my room had to wear latex gloves and a mask to prevent contamination. I've gotten a flu shot every year since.

Shannon - I missed you too.

Mauigirl - Thank you. I am.

Kitten - I am sooo sorry. It is awful. I was put in isolation too. The gloves, the masks and it was not not not NOT fun.
And kinda scary because I didn't want anyone I loved to even visit me.

I didn't get the shot because it always gives me flu symptoms. Seriously. And this strain was "unidentified viral" so it might not have helped anyway. It turned into an upper respiratory infection on top of that. I was a mess!!!

Maybe I need to give that shot a second glance next year. Ya think?

That's always the key...how do they react when they find out they are with royalty.

You have to tell him? He didn't notice the crown or queenly aura? I don't know.....

Welcome back to the blogosphere, Your Highness! We run amok without your guidance and example.

I agree with Coopernicus -- how could this new gent NOT know he was dealing with royalty?

Now that the Queen is back, all is well in Bloggingham. Homer will probably spill all, in good time. I doubt he can withstand the queenly staredown for long. Glad you're back!

Travis - Ain't it the truth! And nobody I date can stand Homer.

Homer is an acquired taste.

Akelamalu - So good to be here!

Charles - Thank you. I have missed you all as well.

Coop - You do have a point....Shall I send him over for an inspection?

Gal - You ran amok? No! Not YOU! Let me see what Homer has to say about this.

Jean-Luc - Ahhh....that was sweet.

Dawn - Did you know that he likes it when I make up words? It's true. Imagine!

Christine - He is wavering indeed! That dog will tell me and then I'll have some dungeon throwing to do. Ha!
