Monday Mimisms: What You Said (Part One)

When I asked Jumping Neko Punch, the first Japanese peace blogger, to help me understand the heading placed on the 4 minute video he made for BlogBlast For Peace (yes he did!) and translate it into English for my readers, he wrote:

"Hi, Mimi. I'm sorry.

Yahoo Japan blog is written in Japanese and I don't understand English very well.
But the action on peace will break the language barrier.

Thank you for your peace globe.
See you again."

So what did he do? He created an English blog - just for you. I hope you'll hop over and say hello from your part of the world. I love to look at his Japanese blog too!
Along with his precocious cat mingling with the earth ball in the musical video, he included the following in his peace post. I think you'll be impressed.

Article 9 of the Japanese Constitution

1) Aspiring sincerely to an international peace based on justice and order, the Japanese people forever renounce war as a sovereign right of the nation and the threat or use of force as means of settling international disputes.
2) In order to accomplish the aim of the preceding paragraph, land, sea and air forces, as well as other war potential, will never be maintained. The right of belligerency of the state will not be recognized.

Can Cats Save The World?

Well maybe they can......

Hi Mimi,
Thank you for sharing.
This is exciting !
I went to share some of my "peace pie"... I have a special thing with Japan; my Mom was born there.

But, I'm glad he did an English blog; I can't speak Japanese neither !

Hugs to you xxxx

Aren't the kitties wonderful? (pssst don't tell my dogs or Homer I said that)

That article 9 really brought a tear to my eye.

I was unaware that the Japanese Constitution precluded their maintenance of a military. I'm sure they have defensive capabilities, but perhaps they've outlawed those things which would allow them to project power (like aircraft carriers or missile subs).

This bears researching. If one of the top economic powers in the world can successfully operate this way, there's no reason the rest can't. No reason whatsoever.

Leave it to those "wily" Japanese to race ahead of the rest of us!

Of course cats can save the world!
I just asked Linus and Rigby and they said sure, no problem, and that they would get to it as soon as they take a little catnap.
