Monday Mimisms with Mimi Queen of Memes: Memeless

So there I was.

Not a servant in sight and the castle needed cleaning. Why, oh why, did I give them the day off? The floors needed polishing, the dishes needed washing, the laundry needed folding and the plants needed watering. I had no choice. It was time to take matters into my own hands. Deeds that should have been done by others but now must be accomplished by moi - the Queen. And so I did what any self-respecting blogger-without-a-post would do.

I whipped out my camera.
And I focused.

Barely. By the skin of my pencil skirt, I prevailed. Not even breaking a nail.Who wants to see me with rubber gloves and a dust mop?
Trust me. Nobody.

But I went about polishing anway. First the furniture with a greasy Orange smelling concoction, the laundry tumbled and smelled like fresh sheets blowing in grandma's breeze, the clorox clanged with the SOS pads, the stove door never looked so good (!) and then for my finale.... floor polish. Pushing the polishy stick thingy across the floor. Singing a Janis Joplin tune. Sliiiidding through the waxed mess with my pink fuzzy socks. And then it hit me.
A revelation.

I can see myself in the floor.
See?

I told you.
Only I could turn a miserable chore into a makeover opportunity.
Got a mirror?

I dropped the mop and ditched the dust. Is that a slight variation of tone on the left cheek (of my face) that wasn't there yesterday? No time for cleaning now. I need to put on a mask. You know. The green gooky kind that stays on for half an hour and dries out like an African tribal mold? It's wise not to answer the door during this ritual but who cares who sees? When you take it off, your face is as smooth as a baby's behind. Being the multi-tasker that I am, I quickly grabbed the SOS sponge box to see what beauty products were tucked away in the ingredients. It scrubs, doesn't it?

Ouch.

Maybe not.

I think I'll stick to memes.
But today I don't have one. Nothing. Nope. Not a thing. And nobody to tag.
Aren't you relieved?
Time for a nap.
This is too much work for a Queen.

I'm impressed at how much work you did. But the shiny was just too much of a distraction for you eh?

Happy Monday!

A lovely floor it is too. You are a hoot Mimi. What a fun post about why there isn't a meme. I feel good not having to worry about that dungeon of yours though. Have a great day. :)

Housework.... Can't stand the stuff! I need more than a servant... I need a whole cleaning crew! :-)

What is this "cleaning" of which you speak??? The ultimate birthday gift that I've been hinting all over the place for is a maid service. I'd make another wish on the wishing star for a maid, but that seems so selfish. **sigh** You have my admiration, Your Highness. :)

Travis - Thanks! Shiny things? Very funny wiseguy...

Patti - "Your Royal Cleanness"....ha ha ha

Turn - It never ends...

Bond - Trying to focus my friend.

Phy - Thanks! I'll be there soon and will return the favor.

Sandee - Why, thank you. It did feel good to clean....although I hate doing it. Thank goodness the servants are back today.

Dave - Me too! But do you have a moat to clean?

Akelamalu - WHY didn't you tell me that before I soiled my nails??

Autumn - Now THAT would be a fabulous gift. I think I might give that gift to myself soon.

Dearest Queen Mimi,

Now that thou hast polished thine castle into a veritable mirror glass, wouldst thou come to mine own humble abode and do the same here?

Verily, 'tis in need of a good cleaning and I've just not the time nor the inclination whilst Princess Amanda is out gallivanting around the countryside with Lady Darcy. Should thyself not be available, perhaps thou could roundest up thy servants and send them north? Forsooth and please?

Yours,

Linda
Duchess of Norwich-Upon-the-Thames

That's one beautiful floor. Can we have a picnic there?

I like it. I need to get some shiny back into my house.

By the way those scrubing pads are great for elbows and feet ;)

Duchess Linda - I can't send the servants because they're being punished in the dungeon at the moment for ditching the cleaning I had to do. After I release them, I'll send them to CT.

Mr. Faizal - Thanks for visiting. Come back anytime.

Charles - I would love to have a picnic. But you'll have to cook...I have a reputation in that area. It's not pretty.

Hammer - I'll remember that, sir. Elbows...feet...

Well my dear.....we both struggle with focusing. I wonder what that means.

I don't clean when I'm well, let alone with I'm sick. Although, I must admit that is quite the beautiful floor.
