The Other Half Of Mi - Uncensored (100 Things Meme Continued)

I was such a smart-aleck about it.
Using half my face as an excuse not to finish the last half of the 100 Things About Me meme, I stopped at 50 (actually, 51 but who's counting) You can read
Part One here. Then guilt set in. Queen of Memes should not cheat on a meme. It's written down somewhere I'm sure. So I vowed to finish the labor of lunacy today and list the last 49 things about myself that you're all dying to know. Please don't run away from the Baptist jokes. They're always at the expense of moi. Not to fear. Today I'll make fun of something else.

The 100 Things About Mi(Mi) Memes -
 Part Two

52. I love to shop for shoes, purses, jewelry and pencil skirts.
Is anyone surprised by this?
Call me a priss if you dare. Here's the non-Baptist version.
OK! OK! I'll stop.

54. I'm a procrastinator. There. I've said it. And right off the bat.

55. I miss
my grandfather. He taught me about unconditional love and inspired the peace globe story. What an amazing man. I wish I could share this with him. But somehow, I think he knows.
56. The sweetest thing on earth is a gentle kiss on my cheek from one handsome little three-year-old munchkin who calls me "Mimi"- that would make me a grrr....grrr...grr.....I can't say it. I just can't say it.

57. Number 56 has to be a BLT because I'm only twenty-five years old.
Much too young to be a grrr.......

58. Number 57 is a boldfaced lie.

59. I love to sleep.

60. I love trees.

61. I love to sleep under willow trees wrapped up in a blanket with a warm breeze blowing.

62. I take two-hour baths and forty minute showers. Ahhhh.....I was supposed to call my mom back an hour ago. She probably thinks I drowned. Snooozzzzzzzz......

63. Some people think I'm nuts. I like to keep it that way.

64. I adore wearing hats.
Backwards baseball caps, floppy retro, pillbox or beret - it's all good. Here I am in 2005. Lazy afternoon, blanket, trees, book, hat, silliness.....heavenly.

65. I rarely watch television. But I do like my music turned up loud when I'm not writing.

66. My women friends are sources of strength in my life; some I've known and loved for 25 years. Through children and men and troubles and sickness, hurricanes and heartache - they are still here. And I have learned to appreciate the holy and abiding bond of true friendship.

67. People tell me I'm strong but what they don't know is.......I had to learn to embrace my own fears and vulnerabilities to get here. I find the real me is truer when I choose to be open to what frightens me.

68. I am a bit vain.

69. I hate prejudice.

70. Being twenty-five, thirty, thirty-five is liberating in every sense of the word and I don't give a pencil skirt's pocket what anyone else thinks.

71. Three sips of wine makes me tipsy.
Four sips.....sleepy. Five sips....seriously silly. Six sips....call the morgue.

72. I believe in the law of attraction.

73. I'd rather have daisies than roses.

74. If given a choice I'd rather lose my sight than my hearing. I could learn to get around but I would die a slow and bitter death without the music.

75. The man who makes me laugh.............lights my candle.

76. As a teenager I was VERY serious-minded. Thank God I got over it.

77. I love books.

78. I love boots.

79. I lovebeautiful things.

80. I always have too many projects going at once. I only have nine blogs, a full-time job, a house to run, books to write, songs to sing and an interesting single life with its usually insanity. No pressure here......working on the P word. Prioritize.

81. Life is good. Very good.

82. I love to dance.

83. I can play Twinkle Twinkle Little Star on the violin. Badly.

84. I can also play Twinkle Twinkle Little Star on the maracas. Better.

85. I was once romance-scammed by a Nigerian 419 guy - for a few days. Then the sob stories started. It got amusing when I pretended to be smitten and offered to show up on his African doorstep escorted by my brother- the police officer. We somehow lost our overseas connection. I was heartbroken.

86. For this reason and so many more countless epiphanies, I became allergic to online dating and started a blog about it.

87. Then I fell in love with a blog. We shared a New Year's and half a summer adventure in New England and parted as friends. Now, I'm back to square one in the dating pool. That would be round one, Mimi, not square. Sigh.

88. I learned that adults CAN be mature about breakups. So far, so good.
89. I suggest you try it. Cuts down on the stress.

90. He's not from Africa. That helps.

91. He killed the lobsters and we won a Bloscar. We let it go to our head and started an American Idol review. It was just ugly. But we did have our fifteen minutes of blog fame.

92. On our last date I taught him to play spin-the-bottle in the closet. I haven't had so much fun since the sixth grade. Having locked lips with Bonnie Raitt (him, not me) I was prepared to be expertly closet-kissed. We really didn't need to spin that bottle since there were only two of us in the closet but he insisted. Silly me. The bottle was not empty (duh).

93. Mimi does not remember what happened in the closet.

94. But getting back to the other half of me. I know you're sitting on the edge of your seat......Let's see.

95. I believe that prayer is peaceful and powerful. My grandfather taught me that. I hope I can follow his example of making what I do in this world count much more than what I say.

96. Religion: I've read, explored, experimented with, dissected and deliberated every angle of most established religions only to return to the one universal truth that never fails:
Unconditional love. My religion of choice? "Most-things-Protestant" just for the sake of labeling. Philosophy fascinates me. Psychology intrigues me. Religion bores me. Spirituality defines me - whether I like it or not. In the grand scheme of things all that really matters is whether or not you can find that place I call "the calm in Abraham." You won't find it in a church.

97. Old Politics: Somewhere left. Formerly slightly-tilted right once upon a time and then there was the Independent stage I went through. Don't ask. None of those labels are important really and certainly don't dictate my views. I do believe I am open-minded enough to respect and hear opposing sides of any argument. I greatly admire and respect intelligent debate. I sometimes enjoy playing devil's advocate on issues. Old politics? Old.

98. New Politics: The Peace Globe Party (from my heart, not my soapbox).

99. Relationships: Make them true and honest.
99. Family: When push comes to shove my world can be rocked in a split second by one flash of love from
the face of my brown-eyed man-boy - who is now twenty-nine. If I had to choose a favorite time in my life it would be The Little League years. Hands down.

100. I believe in the simple power of love.

And never forget: What happens in the closet, stays in the closet.
Right Bonnie?

I truly enjoyed reading your split into two parts 100 things about me. Just so you know, I was actually at the edge of my seat at no 95 :D

Hi Mimi
Loved both halves of these posts. I think you are being a little too hard on yourself about "procrastinating" on the Great American Novel. I don't think you've been procrastinating at all, from where I sit, I read daily about Royal intrigue, heartfelt romance, comic antics of a roving, yet perfectly adorned reporter, horrors (of the rodent kind), heart-breaks, and tear-jerks, and, and...I really can't put a name to that novel, but if I'd dare a guess, I think it's entitled "Mimi Writes"
Just tossin' out the smiles today. (Even if I can't see them). It must be "Brighten Everyones Day Day". That's just the mood I seem to be in today. Did it work? Hope so! :)

Bonnie's boyfriend is gonna call me again. I hate it when he does that. I thought what happens in the closet stays in the closet. And NEVER use an opened bottle of Smirnoff again to play Spin-the-bottle. The humanity. The waste. The suffering.

Terra - Thanks for putting up with my looonnngggg meme. It was fun to write but took forever. Have you done one of these on your blog? If not, I tag YOU.

Mimi Lenox said...

Yes Frank. You did make me smile. You're right. I have done quite a bit of writing. Thanks for encouraging and spreading smiles today. I so needed that!

Mimi Lenox said...

Bud - Does this mean we can't go back in the closet?

The humanity.
The waste.
The suffering.

smiles, and peace, bee

Bondc - Ha! I said it wasn't empty. I never said I opened it. However (she said with fingers crossed) I'll never tell what happened in that closet. What I can remember that is.......some Smirnoff might have accidentally spilled during the spinning. ....uh huh.

Liz Hill said...

Excellent--and LMAO re the closet--oh my--not the only ones *giggling*;-p

Mimi Lenox said...

Bee - Oh please write one! I want to know more about the infamous Empress.

Mimi Lenox said...

Turn - The closet seems to be a recurring theme in my life (if you read Part One). Those who read my blog know I'm not a drinker and certainly not Smirnoff (that's Bud's poison)....One sip of anything fermented and I'm a silly mess.

Mix that with the closet and it's a recipe for disaster.
Of the fun kind.

Bonnie, eat your heart out.

You're a nut - and I mean that in the best sense of the word.

Mimi Lenox said...

Why thank you, Travis! I took that as a compliment.
