Snow Globes and Bookmarks ~ Saturday 9
Today we will attempt to play Sam Winter's weekly meme called Saturday 9. It's been many years since we played Saturday 9 (back in the day of The Queen's Meme) but today it just felt right.
Meme answers on this blog are always done tongue-in-cheek with a bit of pencil skirt sass (and a few serious answers thrown in for good measure). Buckle up. Let's start the new year with a little humor. This meme is authored by Gal @ One Gal's Musings.
3) Harry was born and raised in New Orleans, a city that seldom sees snow. Have you had enough snow to shovel so far this winter?
I bring snow wherever I go. This year it traveled in a snow globe. Then little white flakes began to fall from the sky. Works every time.
5) Harry's mother was a very impressive woman -- a lawyer, judge and Louisiana Supreme Court justice. Tell us about someone in your family of whom you're very proud.
7) The New Year's Eve fireworks celebration in Sydney, Australia is famous for coordinating pyrotechnics and music. Have you ever welcomed the New Year in another country?
9) Looking back on 2015, what surprised you?
Not much. People tend to rise to the level of their character, not your expectation. In relationships? What really matters is honesty and forgiveness. I'll take that surprise any day.

1) Have you ever ridden in a sleigh?
Yes, I rode in Santa's sleigh this year. He let me sit in the front and steer the reindeer. We went down a lot of chimneys. Did I miss yours?
2) This recording is from Harry Connick Jr's best-selling CD, When My Heart Finds Christmas. This year, did you add any new holiday songs to your personal collection?
I added "I Left My Heart in Bloggingham Palace"
Hush now Homer... I'm trying to answer a meme....

4) Speaking of weather, Harry hosted a mini-series on The Weather Channel called 100 Biggest Weather Moments. Do you frequently check The Weather Channel?
No, I just check my snow globe.
It's getting a little warm in here.
Next question....

I am very proud of my son
Apparently there's a lot of activity under the sofa this year.
6) Happy New Year! Now that Christmas is over, are you done with holiday music and decorations? Or are you sad to see the holidays end?
I am sad to see my holiday end. However, my intention is to make each and every day of 2016 a holiday. This year holds significance for me in so many ways. I will have a BIG birthday (*imagine crocodile tears and a makeover appointment*). Time is a'tickin and it's
time to live more fully without self-imposed STRESS. Ask me this time next year if I accomplished my goal. I'll bookmark it with a clothespin.

Yes. This year I welcomed the New Year in a blue Cadillac at midnight complete with romantic music and candles...wait...where was I?
What was the question?
8) Do you have any New Year's Resolutions for 2016?

8) Do you have any New Year's Resolutions for 2016?
I'll quote a friend of mine who recently said, "I'm planning to forgive others and stay away from crazy people."
Sounds like a plan to me.

Happy New Year Mimi and Homer :)
Thank you, Shannon. I appreciate your friendship all these blogging years. You are the best. Happy New Year!!
Still smiling here. Yes. I am planning to stay away from the crazies with negative vibes. Nice crazies are another matter. (I think I may be one of those.) Happy New Year, Mimi.
no.8 sounds like a plan to me, too!! Have a great weekend!! xoxo
Gee, I'd stay out of Santa's sleigh if you want less stress. And you did miss our house but it's ok. I say this even though we have a chimney and all.
No I haven't had a sleigh ride but I want to try one one day,Happy Nwe Year,xx Rachel and Speedy
Welcome back to Saturday 9. (I've taken this one over, and Kwizgiver does Sunday Stealing.)
I discovered that snowglobes are confiscated by airport security, which makes traveling with them so much harder. Who knew the TSA employed Grinches?
Happy New Year to you and my buddy Homer.
Gemma - You are not "crazy" in my book but you are definitely nice and interesting. I've always loved your blog. So privileged to have known you all these blogging years. Nice to "see" you. Happy New Year!
auntieem - As I told my friend, it was a brilliant!
Zippi Kit - I am sorry I missed your chimney. I will talk to Santa about that first thing!
Happy New Year!
Speedy Rabbit - I actually had a very lovely romantic sleigh ride once (maybe twice...lol). You should attempt to get this done asap. I highly recommend.
Happy New Year!
Gal - You are doing a fantastic job with Saturday 9 (as is Kwiz with Sunday Stealing)....Memes are a fun commitment (a lot of work too!) and probably the backbone glue that holds the blogosphere together, when you get right down to it. I remember 10 years ago when Wordless Wednesday began and many many more followed. We have gone the way of Facebook and lost our sense of community it seems.
So nice to have made friends of longevity and substance. I count you among the finest of my blogging buds. We do care about each others' lives and trials, as any good neighbor should. At least I feel that is the way a good community should function. Blogging is just a neighborhood. I think that Facebook strips some of the intimacy out of the process. I am grateful to still have my blog after all these years and to have made the friends I've made.
Happy New Year, Gal. Doing this meme has really made me miss blogging so much more.
Keep up the good work on Saturday 9!
I might have to adopt your resolution!
Welcome back to the Bloggerhood!
Fun answers - nice to visit with you again. (P.S., I've taken over Thursday 13. (http://newthursday13.blogspot.com)
Happy New Year!
Kwiz- Thank you! It felt weird doing a meme again, but I may pop in from time to time in 2016.
Yes, crazy people abound, hence the resolution is a good one. We all need emotional hazmat suits! -
Mimi
Country Dew - And you as well.
I will check out the Thursday meme!
Thanks for the info.
