Monday Mimisms ~ Rain, Rain, Don't Go Away
Did I ever tell you how much I love rain?
While everyone else prays to the sun gods, I am wishing for rain.
And that is why when the fleeting thought of moving to a concrete jungle (aka a big city) rears its practical head, I am completely uninterested. A nice tidy efficient life near more malls and social civilization does not appeal to me. Unless there are trees. And rain. Trees and rain. Rain and trees. Up high somewhere in a tall tall world near the sky. And leaves. Did I mention trees? My roof needs replacing. The chimney is a mess. Mother Nature has created a swamp in my very messy yard. The upkeep is never-ending and always will be. My logic kicks in and those around me say Move, dear...this is too much for you to take care of...
And then it rains.
my world becomes a cocoon
and I hear it
on the leaves
on the roof
in the trees
hundreds and hundreds of trees
I am sheltered
and alive
I want to write and sing
and dance in the kitchen with my love
Nobody's watching but trees
and they never tell
shhhhh....

Clearly a "water" star sign :) thanks for liking the Facebook page.
What a happy, sexy post. (Yes, you can trust the trees to keep secrets.)
I too love the rain...although from central Appalachia I grew up in the SF Bay Area and never really felt comfortable with its dry Mediterranean climate...had to come back to the mountains and woods and the rain, especially the rain...
Mark - Clearly. Smile. And you're welcome.
Gal - Happy and sexy go together. Or should.
Sue - MOUNTAINS (sorry for shouting) and rain and woods and mountains and rain...now you're talking.
P.S. And the dancing should be under the rainy trees :)
I don't mind rain. I wish it rained just at night when I'm asleep and then sunny all day. ;)
Hmmm...I live in a condo in the city, but it's way in the back and I'm surrounded by tall pines. What you seek can be found.
Oh yeah...it rains too.
