Text Messaging Can Be Good For Your Relationships
A little less than a year ago, I started sharing quotes I found or wrote with my son. I wasn't sure if he read the quick texts because he didn't respond. Several days passed of sending them and I got really busy and missed a day.
"Where's my quote?" he wrote.
Ahhhh....he does like them. And it's been on ever since. With rare exception, I try to stop what I'm doing for a few minutes everyday and send him a quote. Every day. Because it's important that it's consistent. It's important that he can count on me. It's important that I do what I say I will do. And it covers some of the physical distance between us.
If he's having a particularly rough day and hasn't heard from me, I might find "Quote me!" in my text messages. If he's having a good day, a simple LOL.
Sometimes I feel like getting off the grid forever. I hate the whole privacy thing and the endless way everything you do is constantly connected to everything else.
But this part is nice. How do you use technology to make your life better?

What a great idea. :)
Hi friend! I am coming over soon to read about your Queen trip.
I love the fact that since I started Blogging I have made many new friends I wouldn't have met,xx Rachel
Speedy - Blogfriends are the best. I am so glad to have "met" you!
I use technology as another spoke in the wheel that keeps my mind engaged. I don't sweat any of the privacy scares. I just do what I do.
Trav- You do what you do so well because you are rock with common sense and intelligence! I would expect no less from Dancing Bee.
A quotation a day? Great idea! I love it. :)
Songbird - Try it! (and when you're feeling a little sneaky you can always sneak this in: "Thursday Quote of the Day - "Your Mama said call her.")
