Monday Mimisms ~ How To Wear A Beach Hat 101

When I'm not wearing my crown and I don't want people to know I'm a Queen (paparazzi you know....) I am forced to do what the common folk do and wear some sort of alternative head accessory to cover my royal locks. No better place to play with hats than in the sand. My hat and I had quite a little adventure this week at the coast. It protected my recently bruised noggin' from flying seagull injuries and wayward volleyballs. It shielded my lily white skin, compliments of my great-great-great-great-great grandmother Queen Elizabeth I.  The only time I took it off was to flirt talk to a certain gentleman who seemed to always be where I was. Hmmmm....interesting and friendly guy. Have you ever seen the movie "Across a Crowded Beach?" It was something like that.  I wonder...was he interested in me...or just my hat.

How To Wear A Beach Hat 101
(even if you're not a descendant of lily white royalty)

A hat should know how to properly sprawl on a beach blanket..

bring along matching accessories...
Look up when the time is right for...for...well...looking up
It must look patriotic across a blue blue ocean

sky
Hide precious cargo underneath its brim...Baby Boy will love these.

Above all, it must know how to look mysterious for incognito-like blog pictures

That is most important

A hat must not be ticklish
when the occasion calls for tickling

and...
A hat should - especially a red one - occasionally go missing
You never know where it might lead or who it might find while it's "accidentally" blown off your head in the direction of male hat rescuers. (It's a gift)
A hat worth its brim knows the power of anything remotely resembling Scarlett O'Hara.
All other hats on the beach should really pack up and go home.

You know we live at the beach and it has been years since I went to the beach. I suppose it is like back yard orange and grapefruit trees, the fruit fall on the ground and you have to pick it up to throw it away.

I wish I could wear a hat with panache - they always look like a pea on a drum on me. LOL

hmmm... I think my hat just packed up and went home. It just doesn't have the power of Scarlett:(

I love the mysterious incognito photo. It's so "you" and the red hat loves your dark hair!

Akelamalu - I don't believe it!

Dawn - Why, thank you. You look pretty snazzy in a hat yourself ya know..

I rescued a hat once. It led to...uhm...well...never mind what it led to.

Travis - See! Hats are only decoys for trouble. The good kind.
