Guess Who's Coming To Dinner?

Why do I need a lawn mower when I have these guys?
There were four of them. Right at dinnertime tonight.
Eating dandelions.

I tried the zoom lens through the kitchen screen without making a sound.
Come on, guys!
Turn around.

They were magnificent!

I had to go outside.
I needed to get closer.

I know I should have asked this question before I went outside but none of you left me your phone numbers...
Deer won't charge and attack, will they?
Round the corner of the deck I sloooowwwwlllly moved and there she was!
The best shot EVER. I was so excited!!
This is what happens when Mimi can't focus the camera.
I said a very unQueenly thing.
It is apparent that I don't know how to zoom.

Hey! What 'cha doin' Lady?

And then they ran away
Whew. At least I didn't have to run.

The deer came to visit you, and help with your yardwork! That is just sooo cool. You are now more than a Queen. You qualify as a Queen AND a Disney heroine. Birds perched on Mary Poppins' finger as she sang. Woodland creatures greeted Snow White. And you have deer as your lawn crew. I am in awe, your Highness.

Gal - You always describe my kingdom in the magical sense. As far as Mary Poppins (who totally annoyed me, btw) and Snow White (whom I adored), there's just one difference. The only thing really apparent in these photos is that Mimi needs to do some yardwork. Strike that. My son needs to get himself over here pronto and mow the grass. Hi Son. I hope you're reading this and looking at the dandelions growing wild and crazy. Or...I could just wait for the deer family to return - it might get done faster that way.

I hope they come back tomorrow!

P.S. Gal - I'm gonna try holding my finger out tomorrow to see if a bird sits on it.

I'll let ya know.

Mimi, I have left a very lovely award for you at my place. I hope you can leave the deer and collect it.

Do the deer eat all your flowers?

Take care, Pam

Pam - No. They have enough uncut grass. They don't need my flowers too. Bwaahahaahahhaaa

I'll be right over. And thank you.

Great excitement! Do they mow evenly?

Deer are supremely beautiful animals. Love to see them in the wild.

Deer Mimi! ;o) How cool is that to be visited by a pair of dearly deers in one's own backyard! I even like the blurry face-on shot. It makes me sit back and imagining being there myself.

Thanks a bunch for sharing these moments with us... And thanks goodness deers aren't carnivals, ay? ;o)

Bud - Excitement, as you know, is hard to find in these woods. Ha ha...

I'm watching the small one use the weedeater at the moment. I'll get back to you on the even mowing. I can't do everything ya know!!

Charles - They were stunning.

Smorg - They're carnivores?? Oh no. I think you may be right. Perhaps I should do some research before I venture out again.
Glad you enjoyed!

I was with the folks last weekend, and they told me that "their" herd had a new fawn this spring.

"Their" herd now has 9 deer!

That was neat that you got to see the deer. And they were so helpful with the lawn!
Must practice your zooming, My Queen.

Good thing I'm never asked to run, either. Can't do it. Nope.
