Sunday Stealing: Sponge Cake and Fire Extinguishers

You know I'm in a dungeon-throwing-in mood when my answers are this succinct (hat tip to Princess Patti).
Sarcasm might show up.
So could truth.

They often hold hands.

Sunday Stealing: The 29'er Meme

1. What bill do you hate paying the most?
Insurance. What a rip off.

2. Where was the last place you had a romantic dinner?
I can't remember.

3. How many colleges did you attend?
For what? Degrees? Sporting events? Graduations? I need specifics!

4. Why did you choose the shirt that you have on right now?
I was unclothed.

5. First thought when the alarm went off this morning?
Alarms? On weekends? I think not.

6. Last thought before going to sleep last night?
I can sleep as long as I want. Nite-nite.

7. What do you miss being a child?
Ignorance.

8. What errand/chore do you despise?
People do errand/chores? I never knew....

9. Have you found real love yet?
Not in a very long time.

10. What do you get every time you go into Wal-Mart?
A headache.

11. Do you think marriage is an outdated ritual?
I don't think it's an obituary at all. Oh. You said ritual.....Those two words kinda ran together.

12. What famous person would you like to have dinner with?
Gandhi.
He might have some advice about # 9.

13. Ever had to use a fire extinguisher for its intended purpose?
Yes. And I got my stupid fire extinguisher certificate. Rah Rah Rah.Shut up Homer.

14. Somewhere in California you've never been and would like to go?
Hollywood - to look up an old boyfriend. I have a few things to tell him.

15. At this point in your life would you rather start a new career or a new relationship?
Both Maybe one will lead to the other.

16. Do you have a “go to” person?
Yes, and she's wonderful.
I say, "Are you sitting down?"
She says, "When the phone rang."
She knows me well.
And then I hear this, "Oh for the love of sponge cake snap out of it!!"
(This one is bathed in liquor like the people in Spain do it. That's what she meant, right?)

17. Are you where you want to be in life?
I'm on the couch. I'd say not. I'd rather be swimming in the Atlantic Ocean. Baby Boy and his mom and dad are there this week. I wasn't invited!!! How dare they want family time without me.

18. Over the years, what about you do you think has changed the most?
I don't get my crown all twisted over little things. Here on the blog I might rant because I broke a nail but not so much in real life. Mmmmaybe. Oh. And I don't give a rat's behind what anybody thinks. Really. Honesty is so underrated.

19. Looking back at high school were they the best years of your life?
Some of the worst of my life. Yuk. I was bored to tears. (unless it was music class)

20. Are there times you still feel like a kid?
Only in the imagination and curiosity department. I want the wonder of childhood to be a part of my psyche.

21. Where was the hang out spot when you were a teenager?
The football field under the bleachers and the softball field out behind the fence. Or so I've heard....

22. Who do you think impacted your life the most?
My grandfather. He taught me about peace globes. Got yours?

23. Was there a teacher or authority figure that stood out for you?
My music teacher. Had she not sat me down and said, "Now. Apply for this scholarship. I don't want to hear any excuses. You have what it takes." It took a while for me to follow through with that and to believe in me like she did, but I never forgot her encouragement. She has continued to give me guidance throughout my career.

24. Do you tell stories that start with “when I was your age”?
YOUR age or MY age? I am just too young to do such things. Ahem.

25. What is the scariest thing that has happened to you as an adult?
Eating liquor drenched sponge cake.26. What advice would you give to someone about to get married?
How well do you REALLY know that person that you are about to commit your body, mind, soul social security and pension to? Oh. And find a partner who makes you laugh.

27. What advice would you give someone starting their first job?
Work hard but don't stay if it isn't your passion. Keep looking til you find something that is. Life is too short.

28. If you could go back and change one thing you did, what would it be?
Just one?

29. If you could go back and change one thing someone else did, what would it be?
The serenity for me is understanding that I don't own that right. But IF? A few knuckle-heads come to mind. That's a GREAT exit question and a time to keep my mouth shut. See ya.

Ah, someone else who doesn't romanticize her high school years!

LOL on the marriage one. Talk about throwing someone into a dungeon :P

I am probably just being matrimonially snarky cause I am about to host my BFF who is in the process of leaving her drunk husband. Bleh.

Thom - He was an incredible influence in my life.

Mejis - Ain't it the truth!

Mimi Lenox said...

Charles - I'm a bit envious (!) but my time will come shortly. Yippee!

Mimi Lenox said...

Mojo - Why, thank you. Just doing my job here.

Debbie - I've just had the birds and bees talk with Homer. He had to go lie down for awhile (I used graphic illustrations) but he'll be fine by the weekend.
Tomorrow we cover birth control.
(**Mimi searches frantically for manipulatives....it's been a while)

But never fear! Homer will be ready.
So to speak.

Mimi Lenox said...

Duchess - Yours were awesome. Thanks for stopping by.

Mimi Lenox said...

Gal - Oh no.....it was painful at times. And hysterical now that I think about it. More painful. I think I just want to stop thinking about it.

I'm sorry, I couldn't get past that first picture of the sponge cake with the whipped cream. I was drooling so much, I shorted out the keyboard at home and had to post this from work!

Mimi Lenox said...

Starr - Just a few I'd like to hog tie in the dungeon for my evil purposes.....

Drunken husbands. Sorry for your BFF. Not cool. She must be going through a lot. How kind of you to help though.

Mimi Lenox said...

Linda - I've heard some excuses in my day....

Cinnamon Girl said...

It's payback. When my ex and I split she was there for me 100%. Worked out well too since Kidlet forgot her key and was sitting in the doorway. Doofus child that she is.

Dawn Drover said...

"And find a partner who makes you laugh"... great advice!

You missin' baby boy? :(
