I Found My Inner Skirt. Your Turn.

The Ten Photograph Meme

We all have 'em. Those pics we store in multiple folders just sitting there waiting for the next appropriate blog post. Oh! Let's snap a picture of this thumbtack just in case I need it for a blog post later!
I collect photographs like some people collect dolls.

But this week I spent some time weeding through the photos and rearranging. I found some gems. Random. Unrelated. Never-before-seen. PaintShop cropped when necessary. They make absolutely no chronological sense.
But what else is new?

Above: A backyard tree with a weepy-willow look and a splash of purple rain.
Below: Taken at the carnival downtown a couple of weeks ago. I asked the lady to bring them out for me to photograph. And she did.

Don't laugh. I used this little person itty-bitty tool set to plant those flowers and pile up leaves behind the trees. This was not a bright idea. It took 5,000 hours to dig one hole.
I got a sunburn. A backache. And a blister.
short too short Pencil skirt behind the dungeon door....Don't ask me why I had that skirt on.

My birdhouse and windchimes outside....
Taken last weekend: Behind the potting shed there is an azalea and dogwood garden I started ten years ago. It is wild and weedy now, in bad need of work. But I kind of like the natural wild look. Suits my mood.P.S. That is not a wispy ghost in the middle of the picture. It's a peanut butter smudge on the lens.
I really need to stop multi-tasking.

Under ferns is a nice place to play
Did I mention she likes trees?
As long as they don't fall on the house.
and flowers to read by......

Come on now.......use your imagination.

Do you see skirts on this tree?
I see pleats.

I tag anyone who wishes to find their inner skirt today.
Guys, you may find your inner shirt.
If you dare.

And for those not willing to chase the dark side of photos, there's always the dungeon.

I love where you live! You've got some amazing plants there! I wish I could grow a garden...but alas, my thumb is black...

P.S. Word verification: wings. As in, I gotta go spread my wings and find my innner pencil skirt. Ciao!

This is a great meme! It will have to wait until half term though when I have time to go through the photos!

I have a zillion photos never seen by anyone but me. The fam is always complaining...

ya know...I read the small print in the dungeon...there was no Queen is exempt clause.

I'm impressed by how outdoorsy you are! Digging, planting, getting sunburnt ... Here I always pictured you in a salon somewhere in the castle, leading esoteric conversations while sipping a mimosa. Not that I still can't picture you doing that, but it's nice to see how multi-faceted you are. (Is it OK if I'm jealous of your thighs?)

Kitten - I do love nature but never considered myself a "nature girl" much until I lived here. I am utterly at home surrounded by trees (it stokes my creativity) and while I love an aesthetically pleasing lawn and deck, it is hard work and I wanted to get it done in one weekend. Ummm.....bad idea.

Next shopping trip: vegetables. Oh yes. I am going to try to grow tomatoes again this year. And cukes!

Akelamalu - I was stuck for a blog post and then started finding pics and thought, why not? The pictures always end up making a story.
And then a meme! Go for it.

Mimi Lenox said...

Katherine - I knew you would see the bark pleats. It takes a shopper's eye.

And thanks. Well, at least I have one leg we know for sure......

Post 'em! You're gorgeous.

Now I have to revise the fine print.
Like I have time for this! I'm trying to plant a palace here.

Mimi Lenox said...

Bud - Trying? Ha! I succeeded. Queen does not fail.
Now where's your shirt meme?
Don't make me throw you in the dungeon.

Again.

Mimi Lenox said...

Gal - These thighs have a long-standing love affair with Billy Blanks. He and I are old friends.

Outdoorsy? Hmmm.....never thought much about it but I guess it's true that I don't enjoy living in a concrete world. This place feeds my soul. I feel like I'm in a cocoon.
The planting, digging....necessity....I've never been afraid of hard work.
After the initial planting, there's not much to do but water. I don't do the mowing myself. That's too much. I think not.

But the flowers are fun.

Going to find a mint drink now....and think esoteric thoughts.
Smile.

P.S. I got a sunburn but I didn't break a nail!!!

Is it okay if I find my inner jeans?
I don't have lovely legs like you... I have Chicken Legs!

Your photos are so beautiful and peaceful.... I could jump right in...

Mimi Lenox said...

Dawn - Come on down! I promise not to accommodate you in the dungeon. We'll sip iced tea on the deck and solve the world's problems. I'm waiting.....

Chicken Legs? Nah. I doubt it.
I hope you do the meme though. I don't think many people will. Maybe I should go back and make actual tags, eh?

I guess I could try to find my inner boxer briefs, if that wouldn't be too scandalous.

OH! We went to Seattle Center today and took lots of pics! Next Friday Feets is going to be great!

Mimi Lenox said...

Travis - "inner boxer briefs"...bwaahhaahaa

Can't wait to see those pics next Friday!

I'll do a twenty photo in the near future , I see way too much from my cab in NYC !! LOL

Mimi Lenox said...

Thanks Charles! - I like the unkempt natural way it looks....but I really should pull the weeds.
Sigh.

Mimi Lenox said...

King - Now that I would love to see!

So you wore the pencil skirt and showed some leg. No problem with that. We're not here to judge.

The candy apples look great. I'm now wanting to chow down on junk food because of it.

Some people would have taken that smudge on the lens and said it was a ghost or something.

Mimi Lenox said...

Ricardo - I showed some leg?? Me??! I did?! Oh my God. What was I thinking?

Patti said...

I love the weedy-looking azalea and dogwood "section" of your yard. Looks disorganized and comfy that way.

and yes, Mimi, you did show some leg.

glad you didn't break a nail..I just came in from some ersatz gardening work myself.

Lovely!
I adore trees & ferns & pretty much anything green & leafy...except poison ivy.
You've further inspired me to clean up my 'Puter room & hopefully find my jump drive so I can post pictures again... I miss showing off my furkids & sky shots.
