Saturday 9: Going To Pot

The ever perky meme madame Samantha Winters has written an incredibly nosy fascinating Saturday 9 this week called "Going To Pot" . If you follow this meme around the blogosphere today, brace yourself for a shocking number of but I didn't inhale answers. Everyone I know will be on the couch watching some sports event tomorrow (football, I think) so I decided to slip this one in unnoticed. Prepare for the truth, readers. Saturday 9 is up with forty-five minutes left until Sunday.
I am nothing if not prompt.

1. When was the last time you smoked pot?
Two weeks ago.
I scorched a pan of lasagna noodles. The pot was so black on the bottom I had to call the proper authorities.

2. What do you think is your biggest weakness?

Procrastination and over-analyzing relationships - past and present.
A friend remarked to me just this afternoon, "Men are babies. Women are stronger. Don't you know that? You have to patronize them and make them think you don't really know their agendas when in fact you do."

Huh? Phooey! Who needs that??! Who has TIIIMMMEEE for such games? I don't believe this applies to all men but it would save so much time if they would name the game from the start so that I could quickly learn the rules before I am squashed before the second inning...err....touchdown.....oh, you know what I mean.
Just tell me. I'm a big girl. I can handle it.
And then I'll put off dealing with it. See how nicely my weaknesses complement each other?

3. What is your biggest fear?
Growing old alone.

4. Is there a particular goal that you’d like accomplish this year?
Men are not "goals" but I'd like to be in a loving, monogamous relationship with a man who worships the ground I walk on understands the meaning of commitment and is ready for one. I would love to meet someone, start out sloooooooow and enjoy the process of falling in love - every itsy bitsy delicious part of it. If that doesn't happen, I'll settle for winning powerball. Eureka! If I win the big money FIRST then I won't have to worry about the rest.
I smell a plan....

5. What do you miss most from your youth?
The mimosa tree in our backyard. I used to climb up in the pink blossoms and forget the world below existed. I think I may have tried to climb one in the movie theater (see question #8).....

6. What is your best physical feature?

My eyes.

7. Are you very confident?

Have you read my blog? I go around pretending to be an internet Queen with an imaginary dog, cat, and paint-by-number castle. I'd say confidence isn't something I struggle with. And just so ya know....my crown is real!!

8. Tell us about the last time you were drunk.

Hmmm......It was the first time and the last time. The eighties. I went to the movies with a girlfriend. We'd had wine at dinner. At least that's what she told me. I stood up. I fell down. She insisted we go to the movies. I don't remember the movie. I don't remember the plot or the place.
I do remember walls spinning.
I do remember feeling out of control.
I do remember the nausea.
I do remember the headache from hell the next morning.
I never did it again.
I remember thinking....WHY In GOD'S HOLY NAME would anyone want to do that on purpose?

9. Have you ever cheated on a lover?

No.
Unless it happened in the theater and I don't remember.
Surely that does not count.

I did notice this one and i thought it was interesting how in the US people obviously are less ken to admit smoking weed.

Over here, I think the majority of the population have smoked it and about one in twenty smoke it regularly- probably more.

Oh, go ahead and make the lasagna. I'm sure it will not turn your pot black. That only happens to me...

Bloggingham is paint by numbers? When did reality creep in to our favorite realm?

Getting hammered once in a blue moon is not a bad thing. It purges the BS and anxiety. But only do it once and awhile. do it with friends in the right place.

I can show you a bunch of women babies I've met over time. Adult babies come in both sexes and they are a hassle. No doubt. As for games, we men complain that women play games with us. the bottom line for me is that both sides need to stop playing games and get down to the business of getting to know one another and seeing where it goes. The games annoy me to know end. I hear you loud and clear.

Mimi Lenox said...

Ricardo - I agree. Adult babies come in women's sizes too....the game playing definitely goes both ways. This was really not a man-bashing statement...just honest reflection and a bit of frustration talking. Annoying. Oh yes.

I've finally reached the conclusion that I will, in fact, grow old alone and I'm okay with that. Or maybe I won't grow old at all... who knows about these things?

BTW, did you catch my last Thursday Challenge (#11)? Very fetching. You'd like it ;)

After spending the day yesterday watching the Riccardos spar during the I Love Lucy marathon, your comments about playing games seem especially contemporary and rational. All this subterfuge and silliness only works if there's a studio audience of a laugh track, and even then it feels very retro and exhausting.

Yes, you did smoke a pot. Loved that answer!

Mimi Lenox said...

Jamie - Well.....shhh....don't tell anybody ...

Mimi Lenox said...

Mojo - I've had a few reality checks lately...in a pensive mood. Maybe tomorrow I'll be in a pencil skirt mood (grin).

Mimi Lenox said...

Gal - Yes, I "smoked a pot" for sure and do it often. Ha!~

Games: Retro and exhausting. Well put. Lucy pulled it off with her crazy humor and Ricky's "splainin'" comments. But you're right, it's not half as funny in real life.

Ahhh, Procrastination, it seems that's everybody's weakness, mine to as well... :D

Growing old alone doesn't seem so bad, at least it'll be quiet... something I haven't had in a looong time!

I guess you weren't that drunk coz you still pretty much recall a few details... :D

I love your answer in #9! :D lol!

Thanks for dropping by my site! :D
