I'd Like To Buy A Vowel Please

I love words. I love rice. This game is made for me. But I'm warning you.......once you start, you can't stop. I first heard about it from Anndi and then Bond (or was it Bond and then Anndi) then Turnbaby and others. They should be commended for keeping this front and center on their blogs. It's been in my face now for weeks. OK OK I give! I learned that this wonderful online project is a sister site to Poverty.com. Non-profit and really sweeping the Internet. It's fun and rewarding.

This is how it works.
You are shown a vocabulary word. Click on the answer that best defines the word.
If you get it right, you get a harder word. If wrong, you get an easier word.
For each word you get right, they donate 20 grains of rice to the
United Nations World Food Program.
They will even keep up a tally of your individual stats on the site if you choose that setting. Compete with yourself. Compete with your blogging buddies. Start a rice bowl club. Be creative. For the record, I don't think I'll start anymore huge projects right now (!) but I do love playing this game.

Here are the donation stats as of today. It began on October 7, 2007. Phenomenal!

Total Donations by Date

OCTOBER 2007 537,163,380

Total All Dates 6,306,039,810

I'm going to spend some time today learning new words and feeding a hungry person. What could be better than that? Click the icons above for details. Just brew some coffee and hunker down.
But I'm warning you......

It's staggering to see how this has taken off. What a great thing to do and it's perfect for the 'but what can I do' folks.

Have a great day.

It is totally addictive. As I mentioned in your more recent post, I saw this first somewhere else and I couldn't stop doing it!
