All I Have To Do Is Look At His Face
I blog for peace so that maybe one day a generation of kids can grow up without hearing and knowing what the term "suicide bomber" means. (Reason #92 to Blog4Peace)
Photo of Catholic priest and U.S. Navy Chaplain (Fr.) George Pucciarelli, taken in Beirut, Lebanon. Pucciarelli was stationed with a Marine Amphibious Unit (MAU) as part of the U.S. contingent of the International Peacekeeping Force, and was present on Oct 23, 1983, when a suicide bomber drove his truck into one of the two buildings used as U.S. Marine Corps barracks, killing 241 U.S. military personnel and wounding 60 others. I just learned last night about a friend's 22 year old cousin. He was killed by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan on July 29. His last act on earth was to radio his platoon and warn them. He joined the National Guard because he had just married and wanted the extra cash. Those who knew him loved him and thought he was extraordinary. When I blog for peace, I will be thinking of all the kids like him.
Gal - I'm so sorry about your friend's cousin. I hope you will pass on my sincere best wishes to his family. I offer my deepest respect and gratitude to the young man for his service and his sacrifice.

Incredible soldier and human being.
So very sorry to hear this. I am thankful for his service to my country ...and for his family's sacrifice as well.
Hi Mimi,
Reasons 99 to 91 are up.
TTFN
could we pass a law that says you can't vote for war unless you or your children are immediately drafted to serve in the war zone?
