Memorial Day 2013 ~ Honor and Respect

Arlington National Cemetery ~ Virginia

Today we honor the sacrifice and service of men and women who have served in the military forces of the United States of America. We acknowledge your courage, your willingness to put others before yourselves, and the dedication it took to fight a lonely battle far from your home and away from your families. Thank you for your service to my country.

 There are parades
 There are speeches
Wreaths are laid

 Bands play

Guards change
 Flags fly

Families weep

Post note from Wikipedia: Funerals, including interments and inurnments, average between 27-30 per day. The cemetery conducts approximately 6,900 burials each year.
