Monday Mimisms ~ It Seemed So Simple When I Was Eight

It's good to be back among the blogging again after a short hiatus for Easter vacation. Thank you for reading my poems during Poetry Week and leaving such lovely comments. Life marches on with so much to do each day and no catching-up in sight....still, I must feed my blog. I've missed you!

What's on my mind? I'm feeling a bit of transition in my life, experiencing some new insights, noticing a shift in the priority pyramid.  I'm working on working smarter instead of harder. Aren't we all? If I "work" smarter on the details then perhaps I can get to my creative outlets faster. At least that's my plan.

Who knew when I was eight and planned to write the Great American Novel that I'd have to actually work a real job while writing the Great American Novel. If only I could win the lottery and hunker down with my pen and paper. It seemed so simple when I was eight.

Chores. Life's little annoyances are beginning to really bug me. Why do I worry about getting to the bottom of the laundry pile when I just keep putting dirty clothes back IN the basket. It's either stop washing for awhile and wear my clothes twice (NOT) just to be able to look at an empty laundry basket or make peace with the vicious cycle. Peace! That's another pile altogether.

Let's face it, I'm never going to have all the peace globes in the peace globe gallery. Never.  I found one today submitted by a physician somewhere in the northeast in 2007 that I never knew existed. And yet her peace globe has been floating around here and there in the blogosphere. They keep rolling in and that's a good thing!
Peace. Now that would be a better thing.

So here's my goal for the week: I'm going to stop worrying about all the details that have to be accomplished by Tuesday until I get through Monday. And I'm going to enjoy every ounce of all the ups and downs of my Monday.  How's that? Then tonight I'll have a long hot bath and a cappuccino.

How is your Monday going? Do you find yourself overwhelmed this week? What do you do when you're overwhelmed? Do you blog or do you retreat? Do you nap? (I confess. I love to nap.)

P.S. Homer sends his regards and said he's glad my blogvation is over.
He's about to lose his mind with all this time on my hands.

Hi Mimi - I sure know how you feel. Never catching up and always rushing to be late. Ha! Countless lists of things to do. Now I have a new plan I want to share with you because it is working for me. My new program is to start at the top of the page, enter the date, and then list each thing I DID do as it is completed. I really am getting more accomplished and a lot less worry about the things not getting done. All in due time - right?

Retreat and nap. In fact I'm on a napvation right now.
Send Homer over please... He can finish painting for me.

The only stuff I worry about anymore is making certain that I do what needs doing at my job. I have fun with everything else.

Wow, you found my peace globe!

My Mondays are usually fine. Actually, I don't feel that it's Monday or Tuesday or whatever day of the week. Everyday seem to be the same because I spend everyday working in the hospital, with some few days in a month off-duty.
