Monday Mimisms ~ Back From The Brink of Disaster

One of these days some smart-faced blogger from afar is gonna call me the Queen Who Cried Wolf. Disaster?
WHAT disaster?
Glad you asked.

Most people wouldn't think anything in my life is of epic disastrous proportions. Oh I have the occasional nail malfunction, tiff with my mother, cooking episodes for the faint-of-heart (oh wait. That IS a disaster) but not really anything you'd call catastrophic. I would consider my house burning down, someone close to me dying a tragedy, or losing my health catastrophic but none of that happened last week.

It was a crazy week at work but no tsunamis or earthquakes.
Monday night I wrote a meme for the Queen's Meme that I have yet to finish. I didn't have time to do my own meme!!! That was embarrassing but hardly newsworthy.
Truth is, sometimes I create disasters by accident. Take for instance the realization that I had not been nominated for a Bloggie AGAIN. What is wrong with this world? Is there no room for a pretend Queen in the annals of blog history?

My kitchen sink stopped up (that was quickly fixed with the trusty plunger) I forgot to buy vitamins at the store (that was fixed with an extra orange for snack) and my camera batteries fell out of the camera and under the car Wednesday morning just as I tried to snap a sunrise shot. Climbing under the car was not fun but I would hardly call that life-threatening.

However, potentially dangerous came the news that someone named "Lucifer" is now following me on Twitter.    I hope he knows what he's in for.

People are dropping like flies at work from the flu.
I solved that by wearing a hazmat suit underneath my pencil skirt.

I learned that I wasn't invited to the upcoming Royal wedding, that
we are being blessed by the Governor with another paycut and my dating profile expired - all in one day!
On Tuesday I lost my keys three times and misplaced my cellphone more times than I care to think about and on Wednesday the cellular service informed me that I'd been charged $1.99 each time I dialed 411 for the last 30 days. You don't want to know how many lipstick tubes I could have bought with all that money I spent calling people searching for my keys.
I drove to get a manicure only to discover they were closed for the Vietnamese New Year.
Who knew??! I've been hiding my cuticles for days but I wouldn't say that warrants a crisis.

A guy friend told me recently that he wouldn't exactly say I'm full of drama but he'd rarely met a woman whose life was more "eventful."  I disagree. I think everyone has the same disasters I do. They just don't write them down on the Internet.

In other news, Baby Boy and I did dueling homework Tuesday night (mine was more complicated but just as boring). We rearranged spelling words into alphabetical rows. Yaaaawwwwwwnnnn.
He told me he hates school and is bored out of his gourd everyday. I'm going to have to have a talk with that teacher. His homework was sooooooo boring that we stopped to do blog poses with apples. I can't get a thing out of him about school except he did divulge in utmost secret and in a moment of hot fudge weakness that "into" is a compound word.
I told you that a smart-face would show up.
Where's Lucifer when I need him?

Your charm, My Queen, is that you find wonderful, bloggable drama in your every day. Or maybe it finds you, I don't know. Anyway, I love it!
:-)

Sounds like an eventful week to me Mimi!

It's just as well you aren't invited to William and Kate's nuptials, what with the paycut and all. But I can't help wondering what kind of horrific breach of protocol has been committed. I bet the Brits wouldn't diss you like this if Bloggingham's monarch wasn't recognized far and wide for her peace-loving ways.

And tell your friend to check out Cleopatra. Queens are not known for having "uneventful" lives!

If I had known there was such a thing as a Bloggie I surely would have nominated you :(

I actually remember rather enjoying school. Lots of good reading, although some I didn't care for either.

Ferd - Drama follows me home. No doubt. LOL

Akelamalu - Truly! And the day I had today was just as eventful. Even more so!!

Gal - That's it. They must be jealous. Why didn't I think of that??!~!

Dawn - ooooohhhh that would have been so exciting!! And remember what I said. K?

Charles - I don't think he's being challenged enough. Middle school was my nemesis though.

Did I ever tell you that I never missed a single word on any spelling test I ever took...ever?

Well I never did and I have the papers to prove it. Being a brilliant speller was always a matter of extreme pride.

Vinny - That is a photo you will never see. Ha ha ha. And why? Because there were no batteries in the camera at the time....
