Monday Mimisms ~ Half Cents and No Sense

What a beautiful weekend! Here are a few photos of my Saturday morning. It was a stellar day for antique cruising and photography. By 11:00 am the temperature climbed into the 90s here. I found some strange objects and a few beauties for purchase. I love auctions, estate sales and garage sales. In fact, my very first newspaper byline was a story about an auction sale. I hope to find a hat-worthy event in the near future and do it again. The day put me in a whimsical mood.
I snapped a lot of pictures. Come along with me!

Things You Should Never Say At a Tag Sale
(Did I say that or just think it?)

1. I have some junk just like that at home.

2. Oh. It's 25 cents. Will you take half off?
I'll need change.

3. No speak Espanol. Oui?

4. Why would I want to buy your pajamas?

5. Do you take Visa? (12 of these swatches went home with me to make pillows and table runners)

6. Where's the nearest Starbucks? That far huh....
7. That's not old is it?

8. OK Lady. That's the ugliest thing I've ever seen.

9. What is your refund policy?

10. Things look awful shady around here.

11. Do all your mirrors have scratches? My hair is a mess.
12. Do you give credit for dust? cough cough

13. This dressing room has no mirrors and is totally unacceptable! (I actually bought the wooden screen/room divider to decoupage for downstairs den. I love it! A steal at $5.00

14. I am with the FBI. Smile.
15. The folks down the street had free kittens. What do you have?

16. I wonder whose door He's knocking on....*I'm going to hell*

17. I won't pay more than a $1.00 for this. It's empty. The nerve!

18. I hope this isn't breakable.
oops

19. I love this movie! Baby Boy and I will watch it together over the summer. He will see it for the first time. The best part besides sharing that with him over a big bowl of popcorn and cheese?
I will have someone to protect me from the flying monkeys.

20. Do you have this in another color?

And my find of the morning...

A gold gilded hand painted miniature 1940s Japanese porcelain pitcher/vase signed and numbered in perfect condition. $3.00

Thanks for coming along with me and keeping me out of blouble (that's blog + trouble for all you non-blog speakers)
See you tomorrow.

Some of this looks like props from the Alice in Wonderland movie.

A charming post Mimi. Another question you should not ask is: "That painting you have priced at £2,(or $2!), do you know the provenance?"
Also I couldn't remember what decoupage meant so I looked it up. I think I had decolletage in mind, Ooops.

I forgot to ask,is that jug by Noritake?

Bazza- Wrong word! Yes, tag sales are serious. And then they're not..ya know?

I think there's a rule against using words like decoupage on a blog.

On a serious note, I always hated yard sales until I found the cheeeeeeep side of me flourished while surrounded by double digit price tags. I do need a new lamp ... and a hot FBI chick

Travis - I'm beginning to realize that...it's gotta more play than the entire post!

Eric - You are looking for a hot FBI chick who does decoupage. Don't write a post about it. I beg you. LOL
