Love Me Tender, Love Me Long

This week I tried to embrace my inner Elvis. Trust me. You do not want to see this. When I said "hubba hubba" just in passing yesterday, Homer made a howling noise and went back into hiding under the bed. He may be homely but he's not stupid.

My friend Jamie, over at Duward Discussion runs a pretty snazzy meme site called Take This Tune. Each week she presents a musical theme as a writing prompt. This is Elvis Presley week. She chose "Black Velvet" (which makes me weak in the knees) and wrote a wonderful story of the first time she saw those baby blues on the big screen. It's a great post!

Truth be told, she threatened to throw me in my own dungeon write another great meme next week that would knock the Queen off her high and mighty pedestal (do I hear laughter from under the bed?) ... if I didn't play her meme. Since I can't stand that awful place and rarely go there unless I'm in a punishing mood, I thought I'd better hop to it and comply.
She's persuasive like that ya know. Do you know her?
The girl knows how to get things done.
I bow.

Here's my very first contribution to Take This Tune. I enjoyed playing, Jamie!

I'll let the King speak for himself. He needs no introduction.
My God what a beautiful man.

You done Jamie proud here, little missy. Uh-huh, uh-huh! I suspect this will keep you out of your own dungeon for at least a little while (though you do seriously need to go down there and address the cobweb situation from time to time!).

Now, go pat yourself on the back and then have a big ole' peanut butter and banana sandwich - you've earned it!

Her majesty did well in revealing hidden desires. Wait until Friday when the desires aren't so hidden, you will be rushing around putting skirts on the piano limbs lest a leg be revealed causing blushes to rise to the royal cheeks (all of them)

Linda - I have blog servants to sweep the cobwebs ya know.
I think.

Maybe I'd better go down there.

P.S. Linda - You and I have discussed the bananas, Missy!!!!

Jamie - Oh dear. I never knew my desires were EVER hidden. I'm pretty much a tell-all kinda Queen (unless it involves secret romance and then my lips are zipped).

"causing blushes to rise to the royal cheeks..."

Great. My knees are weak again.

Of course, I'm not picturing the cheeks surrounding your Queenly smile ... not that I normally picture ladies' cheeks, mind you, but when Jamie said "all of them" well ... you know!

That Jamie! What are we gonna do with her??!

Well played my Queen!

Now I know another nifty little musical meme you might be missing...if you can get that silly player thingy to work!

No pressure now! I don't even have a dungeon. But one day when you've got nothing happening on a Friday, I'd love to see a Set here!

Dawn - Maybe I should pack a bag right now. I smell a mutiny.

Many people don't appreciate how excellent these popular musicians are, regardless of their style. I have a friend who did a flute masterclass. She played her piece, and the tutor said "Gosh, where did you learn to phrase like that?" znd her reply was "Errr listening to Barry Manilow, actually"

You inspired me to join in on this one this week - even though it took me until Thursday to do it!

I believe that this tribute, from a fellow royal, could be one that The King himself would appreciate. Bravo!
