Psychedelic Buttercups

I felt like being completely silly today. Do you mind?
I totally lifted this meme from my buddy
Travis. He did it up right and got it from Turnbaby. I learned that he is a strawberry, a thunderstorm, and a bookcase. Who knew??

I started to steal his most current meme entitled Six Word Life Motto (that he pilfered-in-a-friendly-sort-of-way from Starrlight )but decided it might take some serious thought.

That's not going to happen today.
My serious button has been temporarily unplugged.

The If I Were Meme.....
(watch out for falling bookcases)

If I were a direction I’d be..........lost If I were furniture I’d be...........a coffee table book table
If I were a liquid I’d be......

If I were a gem/stone I’d be......a diamond in the rough
If I were a metal I’d be.....
a platinum gold album.
(This was my Band Meme CD cover.Strange, huh?)

If I were a tree I’d be.......something sturdy, strong and definitely unbendable.
If I were a flower I’d be a .......psychedelic buttercup
with a mind of its own

If I were a fruit I'd be.......a mango (known as the "queen's fruit" in honor of Queen Victoria.) But I never liked Queen Victoria. Once, in 1745, she stole my beau.
I'd like to be a pomegranate in protest if you don't mind.
If I were weather I’d be.......a flake of snow topped with a gallon milk, 3 cups of sugar and vanilla flavoring. Snow cream!
If I were a music instrument I’d be........a piano.

If I were an element I’d be..........the chemical formula N20 otherwise known as I-don't-care-if-there's-a-long-ugly-needle-in-my-mouth-even-if-the-dentist-is-cute nitrous oxide.

Laughing gas. It is part of the Earth's atmosphere. And part of my dental cleanings.

Long live hysterica inducing chemicals.
If I were a colour I’d be.........red with a shade of prissy pink thrown in for a pencil skirt splash..

If I were an animal I’d be.......Daisy The Curly Cat. Who wouldn't wanna be Daisy?

If I were a sound I’d be......a silent sigh after a long slow dance.

If I were a lyric I’d be......."Cast me gently into morning

for the night has been unkind.." McLachlan

If I were a song I’d be........."Send OUT The Clowns" (sorry Sondheim)
If I were a music type I’d be........Lyric Coloratura karaoke. If you know what a lyric coloratura soprano is (which I am) then you know how ridiculous the karaoke would be.

If I were a perfume/cologne I’d be.....Ode To A Cat in the newly packaged Persian Patticakes Perfume Collection - Smells Fit For A Queen: The Sequel.

On Sale now in the Bloggingham Boutique.

1600 Bloggsylvania Avenue

If I were a feeling I’d be.......pheromonal.....hormonal....anything monal will do..
If I were a book I’d be.......open.

If I were food I’d be........Cheetos
If I were a city I’d be.......gone in a New York minute
If I were a taste I’d be......French Vanilla in the morning, honey and spice at lunch and Asian Walnut Salad at dinner. With crackers and candles. And a dash of lemon.

If I were a scent I’d be.......worth more than a penny. Ohh....not that kind. Sigh.
If I were a word I’d be........oops. If I were a verb I’d be....... oops.
If I were an object I’d be......Princess Patti's footstool. She doth write succinctly. Check her out. I bow to her succinctness. Is that a word, Your Princessness? It looks non-succinctly. Un-succinctly. Not succinct. Ly.

If I were a piece of clothing I’d be.......a pencil skirt.

DUH!

If I were a body part I’d be.........nails.

Nails are body parts. Right?
If I were a facial expression I’d be.......only half-spressed.

If I were a cartoon character I’d be......Frieda from Peanuts. If she said it once she said it thrice, "I love my naturally curly hair." My hero.

If I were a movie I’d be........Gone With The Wind

If I were a geometrical figure I’d
be...a curve in 3-dimensional space.

Can someone say peace globe?

If I were one of the 4 seasons I’d be........Winter turning into Spring.
If I were a sentence I’d be......Life starts now.

I tag any blogger who would like to stay out of the dreaded dungeon for the month of April. After that, all bets are off.

Ah, your Majesty, you doth maketh my morning.

I was reading along enjoying your prose, and then all of a sudden..
you mentioned me.

Your highness, I am humbly humbled, and filled with humility.

There is only one teensy problem here. It's a DAFFODIL!

It could be psychedelic, if you say so, but it's a daffodil.

Those are all great answers. I think I'd pick Mango too, I'd want something sweet but exotic and Gone with the Wind is a good choice, or Pretty Woman. Some of Martin and my first dates were so much like poor Julia's out with Richard Gere. I had so much to learn back then!

this is a great meme....I learned so much about you!

I'd do it if I could get out through May.

I enjoyed this post so much. Great answers and shots to go with it. I'm a female tenor who envies coloratura sopranos. However, my voice has had its perks. I was in a local production of Jesus Christ Superstar and when vocal rehearsals broke up by voice parts, I got to rehearse with the men. It was men and Carver rehearsals. Cracked me up. I'd love to hear you sing Mimi.

Sandee said...

That was delightful Mimi. Gone With The Wind and Cheetos did it for me. Excellent. I'll give it a go. I have to stay out of that dungeon of yours. :)

Akelamalu said...

Loved reading all these things about you. Errrm I keep it in hand until I have a minutes Mimi.x

Mine is up Mimi. Here's the link: The If I Were Meme..." It was fun and I don't have to worry about that dungeon of yours for the rest of the month. :)

That cat in pink looks a little POed.

If I were a lyric I'd be "Shout at the Devil."

If I were a cartoon character I'd be Charlie brown. Who else.

Just the other day, I was wondering how my Psychedelic Buttercup (meaning YOU) was doing!
:)

Psychedelic Buttercup eh?

I love it when you get silly!

Nice to see you in such great meme form! Most excellently done, Your Majesty!

As someone who possesses a "Get Out of the Dungeon Free" card I think I can skip out on this one, right? Or is that not right? You'll have to refresh my royal memory!

Mimi Lenox said...

Princess Patti - You know how I feel about your royal succintness. Succintedness? Succinteddyness?
Rats! I can't even spell it.

It's a daffodil?

Deana - Sweet and exotic. Yep. That's you.
And for the record, I STILL have a lot to learn about men. But I don't expect that to ever change.
Sigh.
Nor do I want or expect them to understand me either. Isn't that the way it's supposed to be??!

Katherine - Are you trying to bargain with the Queen? SURELY not. May you say?
Ha!

Carver - That was quite an unusual experience for you I'm sure. So glad you didn't say "countertenor"....have you ever heard a true one? I'd like to hear you sing as well!
Jesus Christ Superstar is a great show.

Sandee - Your meme was excellent as well. I enjoyed learning about your preciousness.....We don't have to call you precious, do we???
But I think you really are. Just for the record.

Akelamalu - I will look forward to your meme and I will be over to check out what you wrote about the other day as soon as I get out of this bloggy ocean for a minute.

Sandee - Nope,Sandee. No dungeon for you.

Charles - Of course, Charlie Brown! And you're right. Daisy looks wickedly pensive.

Bond - Hold on there. Don't come over here starting your drive-by memeing with me again. I see you!
Could you do another one? Pretty pleeeaaasse?

Mo - That's nice of you, Mo. Princess Patti said I'm not a buttercup. She insists I'm a daffodil. I don't want to be a daffodil!!
Yep. Cranky might be my middle name. Silly it was though this morning. I like silly better.

Travis - Sometimes the silly overtakes me and I can't stop. It's an affliction.

Duchess of Norwich Upon The Thames aka Linda - That would be correct. Last we met whilst in your neck of the woods, I did promise you clemency from all forms of punishment. I shall keep my word. On my honor. Cross my heart. And all that stuff.

You're free as a Duchess can be!
(until the next meme that is...)

I guess 'cause I wasn't tagged, that I've got to steal it...

Well I love your answers! This is a fun meme isn't it?

I did it back on April 4th....but only a couple people commented. I liked it and say "harumph" to those who didn't!

SMOOCH!

Oh, Your Highness, may I have an extention on the meme? I've been out of blogland for a couple of days & need to catch up. I'm not to be condemned, am I? **cowering**

Hi Mimi, I think my voice teacher would qualify as a true countertenor. He can sing alto when needed in choirs and mezzo soprano and he has sung in the soprano range too. His voice is remarkable from the baritone range all the way up into soprano. I don't take voice any more but we got to be friends and when he directed Jesus Christ Superstar in the mid 1990s he talked me into auditioning and singing with the men. He is who figured out I was a tenor. I can sing down into the baritone range and up into mezzo soprano but no one would want to hear me sing up there. I'm best in standard tenor range, although also fair when singing baritone for shock value, ha. I sang tenor in a Church choir for a couple of years which was fun.

Yoli said...

I love reading you! You are so imaginative.

Mimi Lenox said...

Julie - I'll go back and read it later. It was fun but a little exhausting too! And silly.

Autumn - I will write you a pass. Sigh.

Carver - True countertenors have a very distinct and quite frankly, odd sound. It is not for everyone and is a vocal phenomenon to say the least.
How do you sing in the baritone range and not damage your cords? I do it to teach parts to tenors/baritones at times and it is brutal. So I have to drink lots of water and keeping telling myself I'm really a soprano!
Not good for the voice.
I'd love to hear a recording of your voice sometime.

Yoli - Thank you. I LOVED your blog. I shall continue to haunt you. Come back anytime!

Ohh gosh ... I want to be a cheeto as well. Then, when I got a hug (it happens) there would be an orange imprint to show were I've been!
Hi Mimi, I will give it a go this weekend if time allows.
The message in a bottle sure was a big success; the second round? Whoo hoo a meme for the record books. They are kept at the Hollydale Blog Library :-)

Merry weekend and all,
Eric

Mimi, you are so much the Queen of Memes, I can't imagine joining--it may be like singing. You grow up with an authority saying, "You can't sing," and so you don't. And then you can't. This meme, silly or not, is yours; it belongs to you. Some people can maybe riff on it, but others can only lie down and soak in the beams.

Misty DawnS said...

Yup, you definitely rock! I did this meme too, and I was completely silly through the whole... long... thing hehe
http://www.mistysmusings.com/2008/03/if-i-were-meme.html

Funny though... both of us would be "lost" if we were a direction! Hey - let's be lost together, K?!?!

Mimi Lenox said...

Eric - You have a library at your blog? And I thought a castle was something! I'll be right over for a Cheeto hug.

Odat - ...I see you picked up on my romantic musings. Yes, a long slow dance and a sigh would be nice about now...then a kiss...and then a long slow dance...and then a kiss. OK. I'll snap out of it now.

Denise - Good to see you. I sent an email reply with the instructions. I hope they worked.

Kathleen - As I've said before, you are a poetic lamb...even in comments. Thank you so much for always supporting me - even when I'm silly.

Misty Dawn - I'd love to be lost with you! That would be soooo much fun and I'm long overdue.
