Monday Mimisms With Mimi Queen of Memes ~ I'd Like To Thank The Blogademy

Oh dear. What shall I wear? It's a star-studded event today at Bloggingham, a royal awards ceremony with more tags than Macy's on a sale day. And I should know. I went shopping and found a few frilly frocks for the occasion. I hope you like this one. Searching for a bobble as we blogspeak. Let the memeing begin.

From Lynn in the Philippines who authors the blog Everything and Then Some, I received the Egel's Nest Award. She said in bestowing this award to....."Mimi, for her passion about blogging about world peace through her BlogBlast for Peace posts from participants she invites." Thank you! And I hope she likes my purple evening gown. I shall pass this on to five wonderful peace bloggers. They should pass them on to others if they so desire. It's that simple. Here they are! Ralph at Airhead-55, Gracie at Echoes of Grace, Asara's Mental Meanderings and Shelly at This Eclectic Life.

From that special lady known as Sandee comes the Powerful Writing Award. Sandee writes the blog Comedy Plus and if you haven't visited her, please do so. She's a sweet lady with a blog full of hilarity and charm. The originator of this award is Seamus Kearney, a journalist from New Zealander now living in France. His site honors writing excellence with a group called The Shameless Lions Writing Circle. In his words, "When I set up The Shameless Lions Writing Circle, one of things I had in mind was that we as a group could encourage and celebrate good, powerful writing on the Internet/blogosphere." I'm supposed to choose five bloggers whose writing I consider of excellent quality and content. That's not hard to do. Winners should visit his site for a selection of badge colors to match your blog and then pass it on to five other creative and talented writers. Thank you, Sandee, for this honor. Here are my choices:

Judd at The Rising Blogger
Gale at
Gemosophy
Ev at
My Life Is Murphy's Law
Kathleen at
Diary of a Heretic
Maryam at
My Marrakesh

Robin at The Spirit Knows Best and Shinade at The Painted Veil awarded me this Be The Blog award recently. Be The Blog awardIt is an award for successful bloggers out there who really put time and effort into their work and continue to plug along (despite Google's ambiguous intentions and Technorati's blunders......but that's another story). The creator of this award is Mark from Me and My Drum. He says of his creation "Mark said, "This badge is for bloggers who make their blog their own, stay with it, interact with their readers, and have fun!" Badge "flavors include Creamy Cabernet, Midnight Oil, and Pink Smoothie. Thank you, Robin! I think I'll have a smoothie.
Winners should head on over
to this page and choose your flavor. My choices are....

Sandee at Comedy Plus, Morgen at It's a Blog Eat Blog World, Lance at Solitary Views, Ashley at Moj Pokoj and Bond at The Big Leather Couch.

All in the same day......from Robin at The Spirit Knows Best , Sandee at Comedy Plus and Colin who writes Life, I received this Blogging Buddies Global Community Award. It is soooooo cute. Coincidentally, Colin is the originator of this award. He states, "Having received many awards I have decided that it was time I created one for ALL my Blogging Buddies. You are ALL awesome and contribute to the wonderful global communities that we have all created. Thank you. Feel free to pass this along, all I ask is that all recipients link back to here as the original point of reference." Great idea, Colin.

I would like to pass this along to a few of my favorite bloggers as follows:

Barbara at Family Counts in France
Angel at Angell'z Secret Akelamalu at Everything and Nothing in United Kingdom Morgen at It's A Blog Eat Blog World in MichiganAnndi at Anndi's Luggage in CanadaAnyhow at Anyhow Blogs in Sinapore

From Misty Dawn and Sandee comes this joyous little award called "Thank You....I've Got a Friend in you!" Makes me want to go frolic outside and play in the grass for awhile. Those kids seem to know what friendship is all about. We could learn a lot from that photograph. Thank you, Sandee. I certainly consider you a friend in this blogging world and beyond.

I now tag the following friends in the blogosphere!

Lyn at Lyn's Last Minute Life, Sanni at Coffee2Go, Spinners at My Life As We Think I Know It, Annelisa at Words That Flow, Lois at Lowdown From Lois, Cheysuli at Chey's Place, Daisy The Curly Cat, Robin at The Spirit Knows Best, Chesca at ExSkindiver, Matt at Bagwine Ruminations, Mags at Miss Maggie Moo Talks To U, Desert Songbird at The Ice Box, Dixie at Dixie's Heart and Soul, and Claire at A Little Piece of Me.

Blog of The Month honor hailed from Comedy Plus.

I love the way she acknowledges and recognizes her regular readers on a consistent basis. She knows how to form friendships within the blogosphere and always follows through with kindness and respect on others' blogs. That's why I'm giving it to her as well! It's a friendship fest in the sphere today. YaY for friendship. YaY for blogs. I'd like to recognize these folks:

Sandee at Comedy Plus, Katherine at Wading Through My Stream of Consciousness , Linda at Are We There Yet?, Frank at Foxxfyrre's Honk 'n Hollr, Nola Dawn at Kids, Cats, and Books, Lala at What? Mermaids?, and The Cat Blogosphere.

The Thank You For Being My Friend award just popped up and was created by Mel over at Monday Morning Power. It was awarded to me by Sandee , Bridget from ...And Miles To Go Before We Sleep.......and Misty Dawn at My Dogs Keep Me Sane. I apologize to all of them for not acknowledging it sooner. However, it's never too late to be thankful or appreciative and I am so thankful for the relationships in my life! And look. These guys have wrinkles and they're still happy!

This is what the award means as written by its creator........There is something very special and unique about blogging friendships. In “real” life we all have to first get by the physical and superficial aspects of each other before we can get into who we are, really. In “real” life there is so much bull shit that we have to put up with, that sometimes developing true friends becomes very difficult. I feel that with blogging friendships there are no superficial aspects to it; the barriers do not exist. We open up in our writings as to who we really are. We bare ourselves and say “this is me.” For many of us this is the only way that we can truly express ourselves, our opinions, our strengths and our fears. I have also discovered a level of INTEGRITY amongst bloggers that I have not found in “real” life.
I pass this on to the following friendly bloggers and wonderful people:

Lee at
Tarheel Ramblings, Patti at Late Bloomer Boomer, Mom Unplugged, Jeff at A Word in Edgewise, Tisha at Crazy Working Mom and Lizza at I Am Woman, See Me Blog!
Just buzzin' along minding my own blusiness (that's Blog + Business) and Brad the BlogBee shows up! He flew over from Polli's island paradise and landed on my doorstep. I quickly grabbed the flyswatter to smack him and nearly smashed the little thing! Thank goodness he explained himself in Bee talk just in time or his sweet little honey feathers would be moat food! Now that I know how he is a messenger for Polli who lives in Polliwog's Pond, he's OK in my book. She created this very special award with the help of Mike “MadMan” Wheeler from ThingsByMike
This is what the buzz is about according to Brad the BlogBee (he's my alliteration hero):

"The Good Buzzz Blog Award is for blogs that have generated a happy hum in the blogosphere. Whether it be for their blog in general, one outstanding, unusual or controversial post, or for something cool the blogger has done. Or even for recognizing some promising, brand-new blogs." Thank you, Brad. I'm glad to know my buzzin' skills are still buzzin'! And thank you, Comedy Plus, for listing me in your winner's roll!

I think these folks are bee-worthy as well:
Lawyer Mama, Julie at Using My Words, Sanni at The Evil Blogger Twin, Captain LifeCruiser, Doctor Anonymous, Purrchance To Dream, Christine at Just Say Oohrah, Odat at Odat Mumbles, and Mo at The Wren's Nest.

I'd better watch my attitude ......

.....because Sandee over at Comedy Plus just gave me this Winning Attitude Award. Santa's watching and now Sandee! Blasted! I really need to behave myself.
She had this to say about it.....

Mel over at Monday Morning Power created a new award called Winning Attitude Award. How cool is that. This award is all about having a winning attitude and here is what Mel had to say:
"This award seems like a natural given what my site is all about. This award is based on positive thinking and is meant for those blogs who base their existence, in part or in whole, on Positive Winning Attitudes."

There are two ways to post this award on your site; the award only or the code and award. To get your preference go HERE. Remember, the creator of this award is Mel and a link back to his blog post is in order.

My Winning Attitudes are.....

Frank at Honk 'n Hollr - He's on the lamb from the dungeon and has taken on an entirely new identity. He's wearing an apron (!) and mumbling something about a one-legged man. It ain't pretty.
Santa at Santa's Community BlogJamie at Duward DiscussionThe Buzz QueenDown River DrivelJean-Luc at Captain Picard's Journal

Congratulations to all.
That concludes Round One of the awards ceremony.
I'd like personally thank The Blogademy.

Stay tuned for Round Two.
I need to find another outfit for the second ceremony! I couldn't fit all my blog friends into this post. That's a great "problem" to have. Have a great evening and see you tomorrow.

Hi Mimi,
Thank you so much ! :)
I'am very honored, and I think that when I started coming to her Majesty's palace, I knew that she is someone special.

I hope to come by more often; I have been so darn busy last week. This week is looking calmer.

You take care, and Congrats to you also. All these awards show how much you are loved !

With friendship & peace.

Mimi, Thanks so much for the gracious nod. I've been consumed with finishing my book, and I'm almost there... really. I have 62K words and two and a half chapters to go. But I so appreciate your thinking of me. I used to pour so much attention into my blog. I'm grateful to my bloggies and hope I have a publishing credit within a year as my way of saying thanks (because don't forget, you're a Ph.D. in my novel!!!) Gale

I am so embarrassingly late at figuring out that you awarded me something!! I have been on Pluto for the past two months (between the Holidays and moving my entire blog to Wordpress) and have been very out of touch.

Thank you so much! I just posted my acknowledgment today. Better late than never I guess!

Thanks again!
