Want To Go Riding on a Cloud?

I took these photos yesterday while out and about waiting for a warning worthy thunderstorm we never got. The drought has doomed my plants and water restrictions in the city are just around the corner. I waited. No rain. I snapped. No rain. The clouds were stingy. I do not pretend to be a photographer, certainly not alongside pros like Annelisa and her magic lens from Great Britain or Ben Spark, but I had a great time today chasing clouds around town. They serve as the visual backdrop to a post I've been working on for a few days.

It's about you.

There is some incredible writing going on in the blogosphere. Slides and slivers of pure poetry I stumble across everyday. I've been collecting a few gems from your sites and paired your words with my photographs. I hope you can see the correlation or use your imaginations to continue the story -then click on the link to finish reading the posts if you wish.
 Can you find yourself below?

On Misery
"... ...even when I hear the voice or laugh of a person in whose company I see the stars doing the cha-cha, whose presence fills me with uncompromising, delirious joy, the ghost of misery whispers in my ear or lands on my skin, like a spiderweb -- its softness belying its strength and persistence.
......Screw you, Misery, for ruining the experiences in which I normally find solace. Like the rain. (And it's been raining nearly nonstop here for the past few days.) But bless you, Misery, for making me see it in a way I've never seen before. Cleansing rain. Independent rain."

On life.....
"It was said, and passed from generation to generation by those versed in the lore, that any of Elven blood may seek the Eternal Place simply by Choosing the Path......
On that night, we will face the northern sky, and you will prepare the Ritual again, and make your Wish. On the following day, we will arrive at Elven Home, and we will know the truth."

from "The Yuletide Star" ~ Travis ~ Trav's Thoughts

On passing....

Every shining cloud edge
is the periphery of your world
and mine, neither in sunshine
nor in rain
,
but that no-man's land
is held freehold and may only linger
as long as the last breath
takes to girdle the Earth,
or for the heavens to inhale
deeply of your essence
and discover the inspiration
to be intoxicating and fresh.
Then it is time to go.

From "Haunted" Words That Flow ~ Annelisa ~ East Sussex

Enjoy the photographs. We need the rain. Have a happy Saturday! See you tomorrow.

Where did the rain go?

Beautiful clouds and words both. I haven't flown in a long time but when I do I always try to get a window seat so that I can look at the clouds from above - there's nothing like it as far as I'm concerned.

Clouds can be so majestic. Thank you for your kind words, Mims. I also like how you, Trav, and Annelisa weave spells with words and images.

I hope you got the rain you needed!

Linda - I love that too. The last flight home from CT was a bit rocky in a thunderstorm. I didn't love that. Thanks for commenting! I appreciate your presence on my blog.

Lizza - Your writing is wonderful. And no rain yet. Would you send some please?

Akelamalu - I'm so fascinated with them. Ever since Annelisa started photographing them, they've just seemed magical.

Thanks so much for pairing my words with your photographs. I'm impressed daily by the words I read in the bloggosphere - they make me ponder or just laugh.

And the whole experience of blogging has really stirred the words in my brain so that I've been able to write more and finish older projects.
